Pertaining to recent articles about the junior high,I was hoping to see more articles to clarify certain points. I am writing to you to help me understand what is left to imagination.
I am left with the impression that city officials willfully withheld maintenance money for updating violations at the Junior High because they had decided the school should be demolished. Now those violations are being cited as reasons that the school is beyond renovation. These officials should be named and hopefully submit an article to the papers explaining why they made a decision without informing the voters.

| You are right JB. The Junior High has been neglected for a long time in hopes that the taxpayers will build a new one. Now two perfectly fine schools were closed and portable classrooms placed in the front yard of Seminary Hill School. It will look like we have overcrowded schools so that people will vote for the new middle school. |

Hello, JB and lebman5.
Just a heads-up that anything having to do with the school comes under the jurisdiction of the Lebanon School District, SAU 88--not City Hall or the City Council or the City Manager. You can link to their website at the bottom of the City's homepage, www.lebcity.com, or directly at
http://www.sau88.net/Pages/index
Thank you,

| I apologize, Councilor Cormen, that I did not clarify who was responsible for the neglect. It is definitely not the city. The city maintains all of their buildings. They are clean and well taken care of. The school administration could learn something from the city. |

No need to apologize, but thanks.
Frankly, like quite a few people, I wasn't aware that the City and the District are separate legal entities till I got involved in City matters some years back. On the other hand, we are one community, responsible for funding both City and District operations and infrastructure. One pair of pants, two separate pockets.
