To all who have posted on this Forum:

Belated and sincere apologies for not replying MONTHS ago to each of you. I've picked up loud and clear justifiable frustration in certain posts, due to lack of reply from city officials. I can make no excuses but that I am perpetually short of time.

Many citizens are not aware that the city council is an unpaid, volunteer position. Most of us (there are 9) have full-time jobs and families. This certainly does not let us off the hook for better communication, but I thought you should know that, speaking for myself, I believe the entire current Council takes our responsibilities very seriously. Most of us just plain are not bloggers.

I have to sign off shortly today but will begin replies in the next few days. Meanwhile, please note that with the newly activated direct-help tool (Comcate, clickable in the upper right corner of the city homepage, www.lebcity.com), this forum may get taken down. If you think the forum has been a helpful feature for residents to share concerns with one another, regardless of staff/councilor (non)participation, please let me know and I will relay that to the rest of the council and the city manager.
