2010 City BudgetHappy November, everyone. Longer nights mean it's time once again for the City Council's annual review of the City Manager's proposed budget for the upcoming year.Beginning this evening, Nov. 2, at 5:30 pm, eight budget review sessions will occur through early December, culminating in the 12/16/09 public hearing and Council vote on the proposed budget for 2010. All of these meetings are public. Although the actual hearing comes at the end of this process, the budget review sessions are an important opportunity to understand City services, expenses, and revenues--overall as well as one department at a time. Your input along the way will help your elected representatives--the Council--do our best to balance current demands and financial realities with investments that are needed for the longer-term viability of our City.
